Cowboy Bebop

Cowboy Bebop is an anime about a bounty hunter named Spike Spiegel; other than himself, his team consists of, Jet Black, Faye Valentine, Ed and Ein.  The story itself takes place over numerous planets and usually ends up in Spike's team losing the bounty.   

Info:  The first showing of the anime was in April of 1998.  The Japanese television station that was broadcasting it, censored the episodes (they only showed a total of 12 chopped up episodes).   After that, a Japanese satellite station showed the complete uncut version, but didn't have many viewers.   So, the creators of CB decided to publish the groundbreaking soundtrack as well as the anime series.

Characters:

Spike: Spike is the leader of the team; he does most of the physical work, although Jet and Faye are known to help at times.   Spike's background isn't very clear at the start of the series, but as the story develops, many characters from his personal life show up.  

Jet:  Jet is the mechanic of the team; he does little in terms of chasing after bounties, his main job is to cook for the team, repair the ship(s), and find bounties.  Jet's background is hazy throughout the series, although he does talk about his partner and how his arm got blown off.

Faye:  Faye doesn't really have much of a job other than spending money; she was picked up when Spike decided to search for a casino chip.  Faye doesn't know who she is, but as the series continues, much of her life is revealed.

Ed:  Ed is the computer hacker of the group and hunts down many of the criminals; she was picked up almost on accident as Ein showed up.  Ed's background isn't really important, although she does meet up with her father about halfway through the story.

Ein:  Ein is a highly intelligent dog who has had tons of information stuck into it's head.  Although Ein doesn't help out the team all that much, he pleases Ed and is there for some comic humor.
