Armitage the Third

The following is a description of the two Armitage movies, as well as the series.   Note:  Apparently, all Armitage videos/dvds have brief nudity and some blood.  The recommended rating is 15+ (or was it 16, I really don't care much about ratings anyway).

Polymatrix -- Armitage is a tale about a third robot, who is created different. The story originally takes place in Mars (the movie Polymatrix shows what happens there) during troubled times.  The Mars colony, trying to make peace with earth must destroy the robots.  Although the robots were created to help with the colonization (due to the low birth rate on the planet), they are now being persecuted for being too human.

The thirds (namely Naomi Armitage and Julian a.k.a. Pluto), not wanting to be discovered, act as human as possible.  But for Armitage, that isn't possible, for a extremist named Dan Claude is out to hunt down all robots, be they seconds or thirds (his first victim is the last country singer).  

Armitage, a police officer at the time of the first victim's murder, meets up with an earth officer named Ross Sylibus.  Together the two track down Dan Claude and eliminate him, while at the same time, the love and character development between Armitage and Ross steadily progresses.

Armitage finds out about her 'father' Professor Azakura, and with Ross' help, finds him.  Her father perfects her just in time, for the army is about to destroy his lab.

Dual Matrix -- The story takes place a few years after Polymatrix.  Naomi Armitage, now a mother of a perfectly (smart) human girl named Yoko has put her past life behind her.  Ross Sylibus now named Kevin, works as a security guard at a local department.  

Armitage is forced to take up her old ways as a ruthless man from earth starts to destroy an illegal factory generating thirds, in the hopes of finding her secret on how to conceive children. 

During Kevin's visit to a conference located on earth, whilst  discussing the rights of robots, Yoko is kidnapped.  With the help of Armitage, who shows up hours later, Sylibus finds his daughter and proceeds to evacuate back to Mars.

On the way to top of the loading dock, Yoko and her father are met by copies of Armitage (99.9% copies to be correct).  Armitage shows up, severely battered and with the help of a crazy repairman named Mouse, she proceeds to defeat the two copies.  

f_4ever's note:  The movie is considerably better than it's predecessor even though the little bit of cg in the movie is absolutely repulsive.  The only problem that I had with the movie is that you have to see Polymatrix before this to understand the story. In my opinion (which isn't worth much I presume), this movie has the best theme out of any anime and also has the best fight scenes out of any movie (including the Matrix). 

Series   (is it just me, or is this the same as Polymatrix?)

Part 1: Electro Blood. 
Mars, during the terra-forming process. Ross Sylibus arrives on Mars and witnesses the murder of Kelly McCannon, the last country singer in the universe. Ross finds out that the singer wasn't really a human, but was an illegal 'third' type robot. Ross teams up with Armitage of the Martian Police Department, to catch the killer, Rene D'anclaude 
Part 2: Flesh and Stone. 
Although Armitage catches D'anclaude, he is still only a suspect; to make matters worse, another 'Third', Lavinia Whately, is killed while D'anclaude is supposedly at the hospital.  Armitage disappears, and is now a liable suspect of the murder of the 'thirds'.
Part 3: Heart Core. 
Although the police decide to use their resources elsewhere, Ross decides to continue with D'anclaude's investigation.  Armitage finds a picture of D'anclaude killing one of his victims that died while he was in the hospital.   What's going on here? 
Part 4: Bit of Love. 
As it turns out, D'anclaude has a copy, who is a third. But both versions of him are lost in flames. To find out who she is, and why she was created, Armitage goes to her 'father's' house and finds that he has gone senile.   Will Armitage ever find out her reason for existence?
